Travel Awards

Region II 2026 Fall Regional Meeting Travel Award Nominations:

 

Two travel awards of $1,500 will be awarded to two Region II members to reimburse recipients for the cost of registration, travel, hotel or related expenses to attend the NCURA Region II Fall Meeting, November 8-11, 2026 in Saratoga Springs, NY.

Recipients will be selected based on nominations received by the deadline and considered by the Region's Leadership Development and Nominating Committee and the Steering Committee. In addition to attending the entirety of the Fall Meeting, the recipients must provide a report of their experience at the meeting and a reimbursement request within 30 days from the meeting end date for the travel award to be paid.

Eligibility: Nominees must be research administrators whose institutional location is in the Region II geographic area (DC, DE, MD, NJ, NY, PA, WV) and who have never attended an in-person Fall Meeting. Nominees must be current members of NCURA at the time of nomination. Self-nominations are permitted.

 

Process: Complete and submit the Application Form with a letter of support from the nominee's supervisor by Friday, July 31. Nominees will be notified by August 14, 2026.

Distinguished Service Awards

Region II members are nominated for the Distinguished Service Award by their peers and assessed using the DSA rubric by the Leadership Development and Nominating Committee based on the nomination letter and letters of support. The Distinguished Service Award is given to those who have made sustained and distinctive contributions to Region II and NCURA.
 
The 2025 Distinguished Service Award recipients were recognized at the award ceremony during the 2025 Region II Virtual Fall Meeting:

 

Our first Distinguished Service Award recipient was Charles Bartunek, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Charles was nominated by Cassie Moore, with letters of support coming from Jill Frankenfield and Katie McKeon.

 

Our second Distinguished Service Award recipient was Lamar Oglesby, Rutgers University. Lamar was nominated by Chea Smith, with letters of support coming from Rashonda Harris and Sybile Bayiha.
